Stop Motion Animation
For my animation class, I designed and created a surrealist stop motion animation featuring abstract colorful blobs with googly eyes. This 120-frame project challenged me to develop a narrative that was both visually engaging and technically feasible within the stop motion format.
The process required careful planning and execution, as I needed to balance creative storytelling with the practical challenges of frame-by-frame photography. I focused on creating smooth movements for the blob characters while maintaining visual consistency throughout the sequence, culminating in their unexpected transformation into colorful pom poms.
This project enhanced my understanding of animation fundamentals, including timing, spacing, and the illusion of movement. By incorporating surrealist elements and an unexpected climax, "Blobs Go Boom" demonstrates my ability to craft a compelling visual narrative that embraces both whimsy and technical precision within a concise 10-second timeframe.
